Toxic Masculinity Workshop: Men Urged to Actively Promote Equality

A workshop on 'Toxic Masculinity' was held at the Bürgerzentrum Gahmen on September 26, 2025. Led by Mathias Gathof and Jana Müller, it attracted 16 participants. The event explored societal norms' influence on coexistence and discussed gender roles, power structures, and ways to achieve more equality.

The workshop delved into practical exercises, revealing that men must actively participate in overcoming entrenched gender patterns. Women participants shared numerous strategies against sexual harassment, while the men's flip chart remained blank, highlighting the need for more male engagement.

Key steps for change included openness, confronting one's own role models, and showing care. Regina Hunschock, director of the Bürgerzentrum Gahmen, announced plans to continue discussing and deepening the topic through new offerings. Similarly, Regina Hunschock, representing the 'Berliner Bildungsserver', committed to further developing the theme in future programs.
