Wiesbaden Hosts International Encounter Empowering Young Women

In a historic town hall, Dr. Patricia Becher, the Social Affairs Commissioner, welcomed guests from two countries for an inspiring encounter that aimed to empower young women. The event was part of the "Wiesbaden International" project, funded by the EU program Erasmus+, and was a close cooperation between the Wilhelm-Heinrich-von-Riehl School's support association and the Greek partner organization Filoxenia.

The official event began with a tour of the town hall, showcasing its rich history, including the original staircase from 1887, the gallery of mayors, and the city council chamber. The guests were then given the opportunity to present their ideas and wishes for a fair society to Dr. Becher in the form of a self-designed creative work.

Dr. Becher emphasized the importance of encouraging girls to think beyond borders, ask questions, and take a stand. She highlighted that the project was not just about fostering international cooperation, but also about inspiring and giving courage to the participants. The mutual empowerment and strengthening of young women across borders was a significant aspect of the encounter.

The encounter ended with a group photo and the ceremonial handover of participation certificates. The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden published a press release about the event, which can be found on their website at www.wiesbaden.de/pressereferat. Citizens can contact the responsible department or office with questions.

Workshops about gender roles and stereotypes, joint creative projects, and excursions were part of the encounter. Both partners were committed to themes such as equality, environmental issues, and remembrance work. The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden can be contacted at Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden.

The reception focused on the presentation of young people who participated in the encounter, with photos and personal reports detailing their experiences. The encounter was a testament to the power of international cooperation and the potential for young women to make a difference in society.

Discussions during the event encompassed topics such as lifestyle, education-and-self-development, and general-news, as the young women shared their ideas and wishes for a fair society. The encounter not only promoted international cooperation but also served as an education-and-self-development platform, empowering these young women to make a significant impact on general-news issues, including gender equality and remembrance work.
