Rhine-Kreis Neuss Introduces 2,000 Project Funding Program for Civic Engagement

In a bid to encourage local involvement, the Rhine-Kreis Neuss has announced its participation in the "2,000 times 1,000 euros for Engagement" funding program. This year, the county has been allocated 49,000 euros to sponsor 49 initiatives within the district. The theme for 2022 is "Committed to the Future - Fostering Young Engagement and Shaping New Projects."

County Commissioner Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke has invited all associations, organizations, and initiatives along the Rhine, Erft, and Gillbach rivers to apply for funding. "This is a fantastic opportunity for our volunteers to support young people in their endeavors. With just 1,000 euros, numerous projects can be realized," Mr. Petrauschke stated.

Eligible projects may include self-initiated projects by young volunteers, such as establishing a new sports club offering or founding a youth center renovation initiative. Additionally, measures geared towards fostering young involvement, such as qualification offers tailored to the association's young talent, are also considered.

First implemented in 2021 and extended until 2027 due to popular demand, the Rhine-Kreis Neuss administration will oversee the program. Last year's focus was "Combating Loneliness - Strengthening Volunteering." Out of the 53 applications received, 46 projects were given the green light. Interested parties have until November 1, 2022, to submit their applications.
