University Advances Biles to Lead Position in Communications and Media Management at Park University

Brad Biles, a seasoned communications professional with over 15 years of experience, has been promoted to the role of Senior Director of Communications and Public Relations at Park University, effective immediately.

Biles, who has been with Park University since July 2007, has served the institution in various capacities. Most recently, he held the position of Director of Communications and Public Relations for the past nine years. Before that, he was the Associate Director of University Communications and Communications Coordinator at the university.

In his new role, Biles will lead the execution of Park University's communications, media relations, public relations, and brand marketing strategies. He will oversee the day-to-day communications operations at the University and ensure that print, digital, and public-facing materials align with Park University's brand standards and strategic goals. Biles will also lead the creative and digital content teams to ensure alignment with the university's brand and goals.

Biles' extensive experience in the communications field is evident in his previous roles. Prior to joining Park University, he worked as an editor for Ascend Media from 2004-07 and as Communications Coordinator at Shawnee Mission Medical Center (now AdventHealth Shawnee Mission) from 2002-04. He also has experience in news media with the Kansas City Star, KCTV Kansas City, KOAM-TV in Pittsburg, Kan/Joplin, Mo., and local newspapers Bonner Springs Chieftain and Basehor Sentinel.

Under Biles' leadership, Park University's Office of Strategic Communications was named the Public Relations Team of the Year in 2022 by the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. He has also won five PRISM awards from the same organization.

Biles is a Pittsburg State University alumnus, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. He is also a longtime staff volunteer for the American Legion Boys State of Kansas, serving as its media relations/public relations director. In 2019, he was honored as Advisor of the Year by the American Legion Boys State of Kansas.

As the primary point of contact for news media at Park University, Biles will play a crucial role in shaping the university's public image and communicating its messages effectively. His appointment is a testament to his dedication and commitment to Park University and its mission.

In his new role at Park University, Brad Biles will not only focus on education-and-self-development and career-development opportunities for students, but also initiatives to promote sports and sports-betting, contributing to a well-rounded university experience.
