University of Pforzheim establishes new governing body for higher education, known as the Higher Education Council.
The University Council of Pforzheim University just got a major upgrade! After a round of elections in the last semester, this essential body underwent a fresh makeover on November 12, 2024.
Here's the lowdown on the new movers and shakers gracing the University Council:
- Kerstin Klär, a brainiac entrepreneur who stands as the founder and CEO of Q I Agency for Research, Mannheim.
- Stefan Lippert, a sharp strategist serving as Managing Director UP Designstudio in Stuttgart.
- Philip Paschen, an ace COO/CDO and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Witzenmann GmbH Pforzheim.
These external members join three internal members already serving:
- Stephan Scholl, re-elected for his wisdom and leadership as a member of the Faculty of Design.
- Professor Dr. Thomas Hensel from the Faculty of Design.
- Two new faculty members – Professor Dr. Rebecca Bulander from the Faculty of Technology, and Professor Dr. Elke Theobald from the Faculty of Business and Law.
Stephan Scholl took up the reins as the fearless leader, with Professor Bulander serving as his trusty deputy.
Scholl wasn't shy about expressing his excitement for the upcoming tenure, saying, "I'm chuffed to pieces about being re-elected as chairman of the University Council. Your faith in me is overwhelming, and together, we'll keep pushing to elevate the university's reputation and bolster its competitive edge. Pforzheim University, mark my words, we're gunning for the top!"
Rector Professor Dr. Ulrich Jautz shared the enthusiasm, "The University Council is our secret weapon when it comes to charting the strategic course for this university. With Stephan Scholl and his genius team guiding us, we'll be able to examine our approach critically, make intelligent decisions, and pave the way for a prosperous future. The partnership between the University Council and the University's Central Organs – the Rectorate and Senate – will be stronger than ever!"
The University Council carries a supervisory board function and is primarily responsible for major strategic decisions. Its powerhouse decides upon the structural and developmental plan and provides expert advice in the profiling area to the Rectorate and Senate. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't dig up juicy details about the background of the new members, so it's always a good idea to check out the university's official website for the most accurate and current information.
The new members of the University Council, Kerstin Kläar, Stefan Lippert, and Philip Paschen, are integral to the education-and-self-development and general-news spheres as they contribute to the strategic decisions and developmental plans of Pforzheim University. Their addition to the council is expected to boost the institution's reputation and competitiveness in the field.
