University selects Molly Pierson to lead role as Dean of Students at Park University
Molly Pierson Appointed as Dean of Students at Park University
Molly Pierson has taken on a new role as the dean of students at Park University, effective from July 25, 2024. Pierson brings a wealth of experience in higher education to her new position, having held progressive leadership roles within the Office of Residential Life at Washington University in St. Louis from 2014 to 2021.
Before her appointment at Park University, Pierson served as the assistant dean of students and director of residential living at Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. It was during her time at Washburn that Pierson developed a passion for working in higher education.
Pierson's academic background includes a Master of Arts degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration from the University of Kansas, with graduation expected by summer 2025.
In her role as dean of students, Pierson will oversee various student-related departments and initiatives at Park University. These include residence life, student leadership and engagement, counselling, student conduct, crises and advocacy, new student and parent programs, and the Park Student Government Association.
Pierson will also advocate for initiatives related to student retention and co-curricular learning assessment. In addition, she will serve as the deputy Title IX coordinator for students at Park University and will act as the chief judicial officer for Park University students nationwide.
Pierson's duties as dean of students at Park University include collaborating with students, faculty, and staff to positively impact the student experience and advance successful outcomes for Park students. She will work with teams across the University to ensure student experiences align with the University's vision, mission, core values, and strategic plan priorities.
Before her career in higher education, Pierson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Washburn University. She also had a stint as program coordinator of the honors program at Saint Louis University.
