Venezuelan Immigrants Launch U.S. Banking Careers with UnidosUS's Latinos in Finance

Two Venezuelan immigrants, Daniela and Juan Pablo, have launched successful careers in the U.S. banking industry with the support of UnidosUS's Latinos in Finance initiative. Their unique cultural and linguistic skills, along with Juan Pablo's industry experience, have made them valuable hires at Bank of America.

The couple's journey began when they enrolled in the Latinos in Finance course, sponsored by Bank of America and facilitated by Catholic Charities of Tennessee. The course equipped them with comprehensive knowledge of the commercial banking field and interview preparation, setting them up for success.

Daniela and Juan Pablo's ability to navigate two cultures and languages fluently proved invaluable. They were hired at Bank of America, where they aim to provide banking services and financial education to their communities. However, they face challenges such as language barriers and the digital divide in their work. To overcome these, they collaborate with NALCAB in Nashville to support the Latinos in Finance initiative, embedding culturally and linguistically proficient team members in banking communities.

Daniela and Juan Pablo's story illustrates the potential of the Latinos in Finance initiative to launch participants into lifelong career pathways in the commercial banking industry. Their success at Bank of America demonstrates the value of culturally and linguistically proficient team members in serving diverse communities.
