Weekly Accolade: Viveca Stucke, Recognized Crusader
At Holy Cross University, two students stand out for their diverse interests and ambitious plans for the future. Colette Potter '26 and Viveca Stucke '26, both active members of the campus community, have made their mark in their own unique ways.
Colette Potter, a Political Science and Religious Studies major, hails from Bourne, Massachusetts. She starts her day with a dose of Wordle, followed by an iced pumpkin caramel swirl coffee from Cool Beans. Her favourite colour is baby blue, and she has a soft spot for Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Colette's campus life is filled with memorable moments. One of her favourites is the encounter with the kangaroo at Croads. She also enjoys taking the Fenwick elevator, which adds a touch of joy to her day. Academically, her favourite class was Modern Religious Movements with Professor Mat Schmalz.
Colette's bucket list includes climbing into the O'Kane clock tower, and she has a pet cat named Blair. Her favourite meal at Holy Cross is the Yankee pot roast from Kimball. When it comes to entertainment, Colette enjoys watching The West Wing on TV, Legally Blonde at the cinema, and Instagram reels on her iPad.
Viveca Stucke, the Chief Features Editor at Holy Cross University, shares some of Colette's interests, such as a love for The West Wing and Legally Blonde. However, her musical preference leans towards Washington, DC's political scene, as she favours the sounds of NLE Choppa's "IT'S GETTING HOT".
Viveca's post-graduation plans are as ambitious as her tastes. She aims to attend law school and eventually become the president. Her hometown is not far from Holy Cross, located in Massachusetts. She has travelled to Washington, DC, which she considers her favourite place she has visited so far.
Like Colette, Viveca also has a memorable experience at Smith Hall, although it was an embarrassing moment involving Pub Safe. Her favourite restaurant off-campus is Thai Time, and her favourite sports team is the Boston Red Sox.
Both Colette and Viveca have a shared motto: "The secret to having it all is knowing you already do". This mantra guides them in their daily lives, whether it's navigating campus, studying, or pursuing their passions.
Colette, with her plans to create a club to capture squirrels on campus, and Viveca, with her aspirations to lead as the president, these two Holy Cross students are certainly ones to watch.
