Zabaykalsky Krai Launches 'Zemsky Tutor' to Combat School Bullying

Zabaykalsky Krai's Governor Osipov has launched the 'Zemsky Tutor' program. This initiative introduces mediation services in schools to tackle conflicts and bullying, which often lead to tragic consequences like suicide attempts. The Department of Education has reported a rise in conflict resolution services in the region's educational institutions.

The program appoints Alexei Ivanov as the Zemsky Tutor. Ivanov will work in schools to facilitate mediation services, aiming to restore good relations, regain trust, and repair damage caused by conflicts. The regional government and local authorities will create and operate these services, with support from the Ministry of Education. This new approach marks a significant shift in how conflicts are handled in educational institutions, focusing on resolution rather than punishment.

The 'Zemsky Tutor' program is set to improve the school environment in Zabaykalsky Krai. By addressing conflicts effectively, it aims to prevent bullying and its severe consequences, fostering safer and more harmonious learning spaces.
